I remember the Park Ranger telling me and a buddy of mine not to feed the ground squirrels because they carried the Bubonic Plague. This was back in the Late
70's. Other than that not much.

No experience in RMNP but I can give one piece of advise that's universal , "cast the fly in the water".

All of you guys should be ashamed of yourselves! Andre asked a very serious question and you all just toy with him, knowing his precarious emotional
condition, without concern. Shame!!

RMNP - Yes and I hear the water can be cold.
Cheeseman Canyon is no good either. Why not go to Europe while your Dollars are worth much (no Sunoco's though). |

Have fished there often. I can point you in the right direction depending on how much you want to hike. I can clue you in more off line as this is a public
forum. I would advise taking an asprin every day 2-3 days before you leave as this will help avoid altitude sickness. Also drink plenty of water and gatorade
every day and limit your cofee and soda the first couple days again to minimize effects of altitude.
As for flys that time of year make sure you have plenty of sz16 red quills, 18 BWO's, sz 16-18 caddis, sz 12 stimulators humbys trudes etc for attractors etc. I would recommend stopping in at Mike Clark's shop for the hot fly, it is right on the way depending on which you plan to enter the park. You can email me at foxville@netzero.net for details on streams. Jeff |
