What I was trying to say is that there are those who set out to make replicas (same taper, same cosmetics) such as Streamer's or Pickard's Dickerson's and those that don't. I would say that Summers doesn't. Yes, PHY rods of the same model are more variable than say, a Payne but whose to know where Paul's fancy may have taken him as opposed to where Summers ended up (if that makes any sense). I've heard lots of people say that thier modern maker (fill in the taper) rod casts just like an original. I've never heard that said about a Summers rod in my small universe.

As for my brother, he doesn't fish so his worth as a human being is diminished.image
