andre',
If there's one thing you don't usually do is overstep your bounds. I have been absent of late due to a serious drop in blood pressure with readings of 79/43 as the low and 103/50 as the high so needless to say my stamina is lacking.

As I stated when I first brought this site online due to the loss of the original in the Verizon-FairPoint transfer I never expected this to be anything like the Classic Fly Rod Forum. When I first built the original website nearly 9 years ago I built it for my own personal use, i.e. when I was on the road for work I would generally carry 100 lbs or more of books, notes etc concerning classic tackle since I love reading and learning.

After the site had been up for 3 months it showed about 120 views and all of those were me from building it, tweaking it and using it and it was then I showed it to Rolf who was pretty much instrumental in questioning as to why it wasn't public, i.e. searchable via web browser. I answered him that I did not set publish so it would essentially be private unless I shared the URL like I did with him and besides that I didn't think anyone would really be interested in the contents.

As usual Rolf being Rolf told me I was mistaken so I turned on publish which essentially allowed search engines to find it and had 10,000 views the first year and then began to receive emails about rods, makers etc as folks found the site. Eventually it grew larger as I added more information and expanded it and eventually it was being visited a lot.

This site is not quite 2 months old and its had nearly 20,000 views which is pretty good and I get a lot of emails from those who have found it. As far as getting traffic is concerned I think it's doing what I expected and we've got a rather excellent core group of members who have had some quality conversations, I'd as soon have that quality rather than quantity since folks will see they are getting the best real information about what they are seeking answers for and not just some conjecture of someone's ideas of what is true which is why the bulk of the information found is backed by the original makers catalog information since they knew what they represented better than anyone.

So ask questions, share information, photo's and catalogs and we'll see new folks along the way, thanks.............
